Big Horn Outfitters is owned by Dan Adair and Daniel Nicolds. We're located in Catron County, New Mexico – home of the famous Gila and Apache National Forests. Collectively, we have 35 years of guiding experience and 60 years of hunting experience. We are committed to making sure your hunt is the best it can possibly be. In order to accomplish this, we only hunt in the best areas, begin scouting long before the hunt starts, have extensive knowledge of the game animals, use the best guides, and provide comfortable lodging with the best food in the industry.   New Mexico is a premier hunting destination set in some of the most diverse terrain found. The landscape varies from spectacularly colored deserts to rugged, flat-topped mesas to high, snowcapped mountains. Heavily forested mountain wildernesses cover a significant portion of the state. The world-famous Gila and Apache National Forest are found in the western part of the state and are where many of our hunts take place. 

Big game in New Mexico are as diverse as the terrain. Native big game species include elk, mule deer, Coues deer, desert bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, mountain lion, black bear, javelina, and pronghorn antelope. New Mexico also offers unique hunting opportunities for introduced, free-ranging exotic species such as ibex, oryx, and Barbary sheep (aoudad). There's truly a big game animal in New Mexico to please everyone!

New Mexico big-game tags are available through the Game and Fish draw, but tags for certain species on private land are available over the counter. Landowner tags for elk are also available, so drawing a tag in advance of the season is not always required.
